Sannio is a small, independent Italian restaurant in Glasgow city centre, with an intimate dining room inspired by an indoor Italian rose garden.
Head downstairs and you’ll find roses climbing around you, greenery overhead and tiny warm lights twinkling between them. There’s even a hint of neroli and orange blossom in the air.
Then find your table, order something you love and settle in. Come for lunch, dinner, a date, a catch-up with friends or something worth celebrating — we’ll take care of the rest.

Pre-Theatre Dining
Pre-theatre has a completely different energy. The restaurant fills up, the atmosphere gets lively and our team gets into the rhythm of making sure everyone enjoys their meal without watching the clock.
We’re directly opposite the King’s Theatre, and our pre-theatre dining times are planned around the shows, so when dinner is finished, your next stop is just across the road.
Evening Dining
Later in the evening, Sannio takes on a different feel. The lights seem a little warmer, the pre-theatre rush has passed, and there’s more time to enjoy where you are.
Order a couple of courses, share a bottle of wine and make a night of it. It’s a lovely time to join us for dinner for two, a catch-up with friends or a celebration that deserves a little longer around the table.

Food is at the heart of Sannio. Our menus bring together the Italian dishes you already know and love with a few Sannio favourites you might not have tried before.
You can keep things classic with pasta, risotto, ravioli or lasagne, tuck into steak or seafood, or try one of the dishes that has become part of Sannio’s story. There’s plenty to explore — and if you find a favourite, we won’t judge you for ordering exactly the same thing next time.

Our Garlic & Parmesan Pizza Bowls have become one of the dishes Sannio is best known for — and if you’ve spotted Pizza Bowls taking over your Instagram & TikTok, you’ll understand why.
Choose your favourite pasta, risotto, lasagne or ravioli and we’ll serve it inside a freshly baked pizza bowl, brushed with garlic butter and finished with Parmesan. Tear into the bowl as you eat, dip it into the sauce, or save the best bits until last — there really isn’t a wrong way to do it.

Elopements, Micro Weddings & Intimate Celebrations
Planning something small and personal? Sannio can be part of the day in more ways than one. On selected weekday afternoons, couples can hold a small, intimate wedding ceremony here at Sannio, then simply stay amongst the roses for lunch, drinks and time together afterwards.
Already getting married somewhere else? Join us after the ceremony for an elopement lunch or intimate wedding dinner with the people closest to you. No traditional wedding reception needed — just good Italian food, a beautiful setting and a table full of your favourite people.

There’s something about sitting amongst the roses with a cocktail in front of you that makes staying for another one seem like a very good idea.

Planning Your Visit to Sannio
You’ll find Sannio on Elmbank Street in Glasgow city centre, just off Sauchiehall Street and directly opposite the King’s Theatre on Bath Street.
If the theatre is part of your plans, it really is just across the road. Join us for pre-theatre dining before the show, or come back to the idea of Sannio another day when you have a little more time for lunch or an evening meal.
Not heading to a show? You’re still right in the middle of the city, with Sauchiehall Street, Bath Street and the surrounding city centre only a short walk away.

Our festive menu is available during the Christmas season, with options for smaller tables and group celebrations in Glasgow city centre.
Accessibility & Access Information
Sannio is a basement restaurant and is accessed by 13 steps, with handrails on both sides. Unfortunately, our listed building does not have a lift, so we do not have step-free or wheelchair access.
